"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you. By this all will know that you are My Disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35
Today...
I saw a lot of stray dogs and young children.
I tasted a cheeseburger from a local restaurant. The patty was very thin and tasted very different, but it was good.
I touched lots of rebar, wire, and dirt.
I heard about several active volcanoes in the area, one of which had two rivers of lava flowing from it yesterday. I was told that this volcano is active, but "sleeping". Apparently it erupts every 120 years or so. Upon asking when it erupted last, I was told it had been about 120 years.
I smelled trash and sugarcane being burned. It is harvesting season where we are, and in some areas the sugarcane fields are so dense that they have to burn them.
I met Miguel, our job foreman. What a nice dude.
I noticed that there are kids everywhere, most of whom seem to have no parents nearby.
The weather today was hot, humid, and sunny again. Our project all day was to cut rebar, tie it together, and assemble it on top of walls.
